As of 2012, Energethica will be the Expo in the new TORINO SMART CITY FESTIVAL: an international event organised by Turin City Council between 19 May and 5 June, which will involve the whole city in discussion groups, conferences, seminars, presentation of studies and reports on goals achieved in terms of energy saving and the reduction of environmental impact in partner cities, such as Budapest, Munich and Lyons.
Within this framework, ENERGETHICA itself provides an exceptional insight into the factors that have contributed to securing Turin’s nomination for “Efficient City”.
TOPICS AT THE 8° ENERGETHICA TURIN 2012
Since 2005 the Energethica® Circuit has successfully promoted the importance of energy efficiency and the use of renewable resources through the Genoa International Trade Fair for renewable and sustainable energy and a series of thematic conventions and other events held throughout Italy.
In order to satisfy the demands of the territory and after the success of the 2011’s edition, Energethica® is returning to Piedmont, one of the most advanced green- economy regions, where there is great interest in energy conservation and renewable resources, ideal conditions for a fertile market.
SMART CITY & SMART INDUSTRY.
Everybody speaks about the Smart City... All over 2011 Energethica® has deepened the “Smart City” concept by organising over 50 scientific conventions featuring exhibition and practical displays, and presenting realistic proposals by the exhibitors. This year, the SMART concept has been examined from the industrial and production perspective, which is at the base of the healthy economy of a sustainable city, and also from the financial viewpoint.

EFFICIENT CONDOMINIUM
In this eighth edition of the fair, companies will be able to take advantage of a further showcase where their specialist products can be displayed. This is the area with the theme “EFFICIENT CONDOMINIUM” run by Italia Casa: it offers a real guided tour through practical and theoretical aspects, providing the opportunity for direct, constructive exchange of information between manufacturers and customers.
Next to the traditional exhibition area, the “Demonstration mall” gives manufacturers the chance to explain their technology, strategies and innovations regarding energy saving and environmental sustainability, through practical demonstrations of their products.
Information desks complete the service provided, where independent consultants and experts answer inquiries, dispelling doubts and providing all necessary information for making the wisest, most apt choices for purchase, largely based on what the practical demo has shown.
REMOTE MANAGEMENT FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION
Due to the big amount of district heating installations in Piedmont, working either with fossil or renewable fuels (solar district heating, biomass) and to the great success of the 2011 edition of the exhibition, in 2012 Energethica Turin will host “Telegestione”, an area dedicated to the transportation and long-distance management of energy either as electricity or heating/cooling production.
The macro-sections will include: smart grid, district heating, heating computation, heating, domotics, R&D, projecting, respect, sustainability, energy efficiency.
NEW: BICI SHOW
Since the spring period is positive for the use of bicycles, Energethica decided to dedicate a part of the fair to this sector.
To talk about cycling nowadays means talking about sustainability, fitness, enjoyment, sport, sociable activity and transport with zero impact on the environment…all cornerstones of sustainable development concerned with widespread well-being.
But the bicycle has also become high-tech, a sophisticated means for shaping a life-style, and given the limited maintenance costs for the future, it may be worth spending a little more on its purchase. This is a choice which requires careful consideration, and needs a platform in which different makes, performance and technology can be compared.
It is a market in full expansion, in which the Italian mechanical industry stands out in the international scene and has something significant to say for itself. These are therefore ideal conditions for introducing to a well-disposed, sensitive audience the trade fair Bici Show, where the right bike and professional contacts can be found! Along with it: Expo Market, Test Drive, Performances, Prizes and Conferences on the subject.
